State organizations praise nation for massive turnout for Feb. 10 marches

TEHRAN, Feb. 12 (MNA) -- In separate statements released on Saturday, the Expediency Council and the Coordination Council of Islamic Propagation (CCIP) expressed thanks to the people for their massive participation in the demonstrations marking the 26th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The unique and unprecedented presence of people despite cold weather and blizzards across the country was an indication of the depth of people’s loyalty to the Islamic system and a strong message to both friends and foes of the Islamic Revolution, the statement read.

The members of the Expediency Council also stressed the need to maintain and consolidate unity between the people and officials and to step up efforts to serve the Islamic system, the statement added.

The CCIP said the enthusiastic and glorious participation of people in the February 10 rally demonstrated the people’s commitment to the ideals of the founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini, and martyrs and a renewal of allegiance to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The rallies displayed the might, greatness, and serious determination of the people in the face of threats by colonialists and superpowers, the CCIP noted.
